Welcome to Far From: for lovers of slow, atmospheric & remote travel
.
I’m Nick, a writer and photographer here to share my love of the journey - both inner and outer - and the belief that how we travel matters—not just where.
A glance across the internet suggests the globe has shrunk, that tourists have blanketed every corner and nothing remains to astonish us – but this is illusion.
Much of the world is still overlooked and under‑imagined. Beyond the digital noise, travel still offers the chance to learn, to unlearn, and to rediscover a sense of wonder, if we know where, and how to look.
Where to start
If you’ve just joined me, I recommend starting with these past favourites to get a feel for the rhythm:
Going ‘Full Walden’ on a Scottish Island
Off-grid and Off-line at Cragaig Bothy on the Isle of Ulva
Tibet’s Forgotten Kingdom
In Search of Magic & Mystery in remote Nangchen County, Tibet
Three Glasses
Nothing about Tuareg tea is hurried, and nothing about it needs to be explained.
Going Analog in America
Two months in the USA with Rolleiflex camera
